The United States was justified in dropping the atomic bombs because Japan was not going to surrender and the war would have lasted longer, ultimately costing thousands of American and Japanese lives and millions of dollars.



Japan said they would die before they would lose the war. If the United States did not drop the atomic bomb, there is a possibility that the Americans could have lost the war. The Japanese bombed America first at Pearl Harbor and that is what caused the U.S. to go to war with the Axis powers.
